Position Title: Experienced Support Workers
Location: Fairford, Gloucestershire
Hourly rate: £1 per hour rising to £X per hour at 3 months’ service, then £Y per hour upon successfully passing training competencies and probationary period at 6 months’ service.
Hours per week: Either Full time or Part time – shifts are 10 hours per day and 14 hours per waking night. Bank hours are also available. Flexibility is essential.

ABOUT ME
I am a young man in my 20s diagnosed with Severe Learning Disability, Mucopolysaccharidosis Type III (Sanfilipo Syndrome), a degenerative, life-limiting disease. It causes speech and developmental delays, respiratory infections, sleep problems, and behavioral issues such as compulsive behaviors and hyperactivity. I also have Anxiety, Autistic Tendencies, and Sleep Apnea.
This is what I have, not who I am!
I live independently in my own bungalow near my family, who are involved in my care and support. I communicate using short sentences, pictures, gestures, and vocalizations, and I also use WidgetGo and PECs.
My favorite days are those where I feel happy and calm, expressing myself with loud vocalizations and big smiles. I enjoy sitting, humming, and flicking through my book, and find comfort in repetitive activities, familiar TV programs, and puzzles.
I want to feel safe with my staff and to participate in activities like walking my dog, trampolining, riding my tripod bike, swimming, playing football, and sailing.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking experienced personal assistants or support workers to support me on a 2:1 basis. Responsibilities include personal care, nutrition, hydration, medication, daily activities, community access, and emotional support.
You should have a calm, caring, positive, and patient nature, be reliable, and communicate effectively. Swimming skills are required to support my swimming activities.
Experience with positive behavior support is essential due to occasional challenging behaviors. Support workers should also engage with my family and dog, demonstrate professionalism, promote independence, and respect my home.
You will need to follow my care plans and protocols, recognize triggers, and use least-restrictive strategies for managing behaviors. Car drivers with a full, clean license are essential for community access. Non-smokers and IT skills are required.
