The HIV, Immunology, Gastro and Hepatology Research Team (HIGH) is a supportive and highly motivated team looking for a new member to help contribute to the progression of treatments for patients suffering from a variety of conditions. This post is ideal for those who wish to build on their existing clinical experience and contribute to the development of evidence‑based patient care.
Working in research is different: it’s about providing the best research opportunities for our patients; by organising and running patient clinics or computer‑based data work. If this appeals to you, you would work alongside experienced colleagues based in the Clinical Research Centre at Southmead Hospital to support a portfolio of both commercial and non‑commercial research studies.
If you are dedicated, enthusiastic, with exceptional organisational skills, planning and attention to detail, and extremely confident with IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture, this offers a fantastic opportunity for career development. Experience in the above clinical areas would be an advantage, but this does not override the qualities of motivation and keenness to learn. The successful applicant will receive a local research induction and will be fully supported and trained to develop in the post. Please note that this is a fixed term post in line with current research funding available and we cannot guarantee extension beyond this time.
Main Duties of the Job

 * Screening and recruiting patients to a range of studies.
 * Extended use of computer systems
 * Enter research data onto study databases and manage any queries raised.
 * Co‑coordinate the logistics for patient visits and undertake patient assessments in accordance with study protocol.
 * Maintain Investigator site file(s) and complete Case Report Forms (CRF/eCRF) with a high degree of accuracy.
 * Ensure appropriate study information is accurately recorded in the patient’s records.
 * Monitor patients for any adverse events and ensure they are reported as necessary in a timely manner.
 * Work closely with the senior research nurse, research nurse team and Research and Development department to manage workload, study progress and personal development.
