 
        
        Global PC Labs Operations Director – Product Certification (Regulatory Services)

Location: Home-based (UK) with occasional presence required at Hemel Hempstead and Loughborough sites.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary senior leader to shape the future of BSI’s global testing and laboratory operations within Product Certification. This full‑time, permanent role reports to the Group Director, Product Certification (Regulatory Services). Based from home, with occasional visits to our Hemel Hempstead and Loughborough laboratories, you will drive excellence across our global testing function and lead a major digitalisation programme transforming how our laboratories operate.
Responsibilities
 * Lead and inspire BSI’s global network of testing, maintenance, and calibration teams, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and performance excellence.
 * Develop and deliver robust operational and resource plans aligned with business and market needs.
 * Drive the digital transformation of our laboratory ecosystem — embedding innovative, data‑driven and automated testing approaches.
 * Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
 * Build capability and succession across diverse, multi‑site technical teams, fostering a culture of performance, inclusion, and collaboration.
 * Partner with senior leaders to identify growth opportunities and shape the strategic direction of the Product Certification business unit.
 * Oversee investment and delivery of new laboratory facilities, ensuring world‑class standards in safety, quality, and innovation.
 * Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence, balancing compliance, efficiency, and customer experience.
To Be Successful In The Role, You Will Have
 * Proven track record leading and managing complex technical or laboratory operations at a senior level.
 * Strong strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to translate vision into delivery.
 * Experience within regulated testing environments and deep knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 compliance.
 * Demonstrated experience in digitalisation, automation, or transformation projects within a laboratory or technical context.
 * Exceptional people leadership skills — able to engage, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
 * Excellent communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders and geographies.
 * Formal qualification in project or business management (or equivalent experience).
 * (Desirable) Previous experience working within Product Certification, Regulatory Services, or similar complex, multi‑site technical operations.
