Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

Are you a newly qualified (or soon to be) Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in working with adults in the community? We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly team of SLTs who work across east and west Kent.

* Hold a general adult community neurological caseload within the West Kent locality, including dysphagia.
* See patients for assessment and therapy in care homes, outpatient clinics and their own homes.
* Really make a difference to people's communication, eating and drinking and their lives.
* Have a valid driving licence and access to a car as these are essential requirements for this role.

We will support you in the role and provide regular management and clinical supervision as well as development of your clinical skills and knowledge. We are a CQC rated OUTSTANDING Trust and team.

Main duties of the job

Our service consists of about 25 therapists and assistant practitioners. We really value our staff and they in turn value the support and opportunities that we provide. We offer excellent clinical supervision (individual and group) and hold regular in-service training days.

* To provide assessment, therapy, advice and support to a general community caseload of neurological and medical patients, including dysphagia work and visits to patients' homes, care homes and community hospitals.
* The post holder will work in the West Kent Team.
* The post will include domiciliary visits and out-patient work.

Job responsibilities

As a community Trust, many of our roles require individuals to be able to drive to perform their duties. Where driving is a requirement of the role, you will be asked to confirm that you hold a full UK driving licence or a full driving licence issued by an EU country (not exchanged from a non-EU country) to proceed with your application. We are committed to supporting candidates with disabilities into employment. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, please contact the Recruitment Team by email at kentchft.recruitment@nhs.net, quoting the vacancy reference number, so we can support you further.

We ask for information about your protected characteristics on our application forms. This isn't visible to anyone involved with shortlisting or interviewing you, except when you choose to be considered under the guaranteed interview scheme due to disability.
