Job Description Summary We’re looking for a Tendering Manager to develop high quality technical and commercial service offers for customers operating GE Vernova substation equipment. You’ll review customer requests, assess feasibility, coordinate cross functional inputs, and build clear, accurate proposals — ensuring the delivery of compelling solutions for the UK market. Job Description As a Tendering Manager in our Services team, you’ll sit at the center of engineering, field services, procurement, and commercial operations. You’ll analyse customer requirements, define the service scope, manage multiple tenders at once, and prepare customer‑ready proposals — from small spare‑parts offers to complex upgrades for ageing transmission equipment. Each request is unique, offering continuous learning and technical variety. Key Responsibilities: Analyse customer service requests for existing GE Vernova substation equipment and perform technical gap assessments. Define scope and gather all required inputs for labour, materials, and engineering support. Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, OTR, Field Services, and Sales to validate feasibility and build accurate costings. Prepare and deliver complete technical and commercial offers using Microsoft Office templates. Manage 12–14 tenders simultaneously, maintaining clear status visibility and communicating timelines proactively. Provide fast initial feedback on new requests and identify missing or unclear information early. Independently prepare smaller spare‑parts offers; collaborate with Sales on larger opportunities. Must‑Have Qualifications: Experience in the power transmission or power generation sector (HV or LV). Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings (not necessarily electrical diagrams). Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tenders. Clear communication skills for working with cross‑functional teams and customers. Curiosity and willingness to learn technical details. A minimum of A‑Level, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent further‑education qualification, or equivalent practical experience. Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications: Background in electrical engineering. Experience working in field services. Commercial knowledge (contracts, terms & conditions). Familiarity with GE or legacy Alstom substation equipment. What We Offer: Competitive remuneration package including an annual bonus scheme, a rich benefits package which you can tailor to your own liking and 26 days of annual leave. Flexible work arrangements following internal policy. Exposure to a wide range of technologies and non‑standard service projects — no two tenders are alike. Significant cross‑functional collaboration and visibility across engineering, services, and commercial teams. Clear development pathways into Engineering, R&D, Sales, or Project Management across GE Vernova. Supportive onboarding from experienced Tendering Managers.
