Health & Safety Assistant
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Assistant to support our project and site teams across a range of construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in health and safety within construction, working closely with our Health & Safety Manager to help maintain high standards of safety, compliance and best practice across all sites.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting the implementation and monitoring of health & safety procedures across our construction sites
*
Assisting with site inspections, audits and safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies and legislation
*
Helping to prepare and maintain RAMS, risk assessments and method statements
*
Assisting with accident, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations
*
Supporting toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
*
Monitoring subcontractor compliance with health & safety requirements
*
Ensuring health & safety documentation is up to date and correctly filed
*
Assisting with the implementation of corrective actions following audits or inspections
*
Promoting a positive health & safety culture across our sites
*
Liaising with site teams to address health & safety concerns promptly
What We’re Looking For
*
Previous experience in a health & safety or site-based role within construction (desirable)
*
Strong interest in pursuing a career in health & safety
*
Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation and site practices
*
Confident communicator with the ability to engage site teams
*
Well organised with good attention to detail
*
Able to work across multiple sites when required
*
Proactive and willing to learn
Qualifications
*
NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards (desirable)
*
IOSH Managing Safely (advantageous)
*
CSCS card (required or working towards)
