Overview

We are currently recruiting a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Skelmersdale. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime.
This role would suit someone with experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, although candidates with a bias in either discipline will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on site machinery
2. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
3. Support production teams to minimise downtime
4. Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
5. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
6. Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures
Equipment on Site Includes:
7. Conveyors
8. Printers
9. Glue stations
10. Folders and feeders
11. Wrappers and labellers
12. Mailing machines
Most machinery operates in a fast-paced, high-accuracy production environment. Training will be provided where required.
Requirements:
13. Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault finding
14. NVQ Level 3 (preferred)
15. Experience within a manufacturing or production environment beneficial
16. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced setting
17. Driving licence preferred but not essential
18. Occasional travel to the Macclesfield site may be required
What’s on Offer:
19. £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE) including shift allowance
20. Rotating shift pattern (6–2 / 2–10)
21. Overtime available during busy periods
Time and a half Monday–Saturday
Double time on Sundays
22. Training on site equipment provided
