About the Role
As a Religious Education Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that encourage students to explore key religious and ethical concepts while developing analytical, discussion, and evaluation skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching RE across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE and A-Level
* Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured, and differentiated lessons
* Monitoring and assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
* Supporting curriculum development and resource creation within the RE department
* Promoting discussion, reflection, and critical thinking in the classroom
* Encouraging students to develop ethical awareness and cultural understanding
* Contributing to extra-curricular activities, enrichment, and RE-related events
* Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
* Possess QTS or PGCE
* Have experience teaching RE at secondary school level, ideally including GCSE and A-Level
* Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
* Be committed to fostering student curiosity, engagement, and achievement
