The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and / or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.

Assessment of presenting conditions, initiation of investigations, determination of differential diagnosis, initiate treatment and where appropriate discharge patients.

Review treatment plans developed by less experienced staff in order to confirm differential diagnosis and advise on discharge/referral.

In the absence of the Team Leader for MINTS the post holder will have responsibility for the management of the MINTS Service including supervision, development and deployment of junior staff.

What we'll need you to bring

1. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and / or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.
2. Assessment of presenting conditions, initiation of investigations, determination of differential diagnosis, initiate treatment and where appropriate discharge patients.
3. Review treatment plans developed by less experienced staff in order to confirm differential diagnosis and advise on discharge/referral.
4. In the absence of the Team Leader for MINTS the post holder will have responsibility for the management of the MINTS Service including supervision, development and deployment of junior staff.
5. Registered Nurse with current revalidation and NMC Registration.
6. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
7. Graduate Certificate in Urgent Care or Equivalent
8. Mints Major / Minor Injury practitioner / or Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification
9. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
10. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of Minor injuries.
11. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with this speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within this speciality / area of practice.
12. Leadership skills to ensure optimum day to day management of the service.
13. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
14. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
15. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Effective time management skills
17. Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

18. Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
19. Further education/evidence of CPD in area of speciality
20. Extensive experience within area of speciality
21. Evidence of audit and evaluation of new initiatives
22. Evidence of audit and evaluation of new initiatives

This role will be based in Hospital at Home.

The working pattern for this role 4 over 7.
