Bristol City Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Principal Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full time or part time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3‑6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Principal Occupational Therapist includes:
* Provide strategic oversight of Occupational Therapy, Carers, and Workforce Development.
* Support the wider leadership team in achieving operational priorities.
* Champion high standards of OT practice across adult and children's services.
* Offer expert leadership and guidance to OT professionals, social care practitioners, and partners.
* Contribute to the strategic leadership of services, helping to build a cohesive, high‑performing, and culturally responsive workforce.
* Oversight Workforce Development Team.
* Promote strengths‑based, person‑centred approaches that empower individuals and support independence.
To Be Successful
* Demonstrable experience in social care OT, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
* Strong project management skills.
* The ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
* HCPC Registration.
* Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Occupational Therapist Qualification.
