Overview
We welcome applications from those looking for hybrid working, (1-2 days per week) from our Handforth office in Cheshire. We're looking for a proactive and analytical Finance Analyst to join our Regional Finance Team, supporting performance insight and financial planning across a network of over 450 vet practices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on understanding the story behind the numbers, brings advanced Excel and VBA skills, and has a solid grasp of P&L, budgets, and balance sheets. Whether you're ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or bring equivalent experience, your inquisitive mindset and ability to turn data into actionable insight will be key to your success.
Responsibilities
* Ownership of periodic reporting models, including regular review, updates and tailoring for different audiences.
* Ownership of the annual budgeting process including template management, testing, liaising with software suppliers to ensure timely rollout and management of budgets for 450+ practices.
* Finance system (BPC) superuser
* Supporting the Regional Finance Manager in the production of the dividend model, collecting information to support dividend calculations for all eligible practices
* Analysis of key financial metrics to identify trends across the whole group, as well as the variation by cohort, turning raw data into relevant and meaningful insights.
* Development of dynamic financial reporting tools to be shared with non-finance colleagues to provide insight into individual practice performance.
* Supporting the Head of Regional Finance, Regional Finance team and other internal stakeholders with ad hoc queries and reporting needs.
Qualifications
* Strong blend of technical expertise and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex data into clear trends and messages that resonate with non-finance colleagues.
* Advanced Excel skills, including VBA, to analyse data efficiently and build robust, tailored reporting tools.
* Willingness to learn new systems and take ownership as the finance super user, always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiency.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
* Professional qualifications: ACCA, ACA, CIMA, part-qualified, or equivalent experience, with a solid understanding of financial principles.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills across disciplines and levels.
