We’re looking for a café assistant to join us on a bank contract basis to help with our café. The role involves assisting in the café servery, garden café, and kitchen to ensure customers receive high-quality food and service.

This role is based at Taurus Crafts in Lydney.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
* Commitment to excellent customer service, presentation, and standards.
* Greet customers, answer queries, and record orders accurately.
* Support colleagues, especially those on work experience or training placements.
* Prepare customer orders, following food hygiene and safety standards, and ensuring proper presentation.
* Serve food, beverages, and cutlery, confirming customer satisfaction.
* Handle payments correctly.
* Maintain a clean and attractive premises as per managerial guidelines.
* Perform other duties to support café operations.
* Assist in the kitchen with washing pots and maintaining cleanliness.
* Follow food hygiene and safety protocols during cleaning.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good GCSEs in Maths and English.
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience in a café is preferred but not essential.
* Barista training is desirable but all training will be provided.
* Experience in catering with minimal supervision is advantageous.
* Ability to deal with the public and visitors, providing excellent customer service.
* Good numeracy, literacy, basic computer, and administrative skills.
* Enjoy working in a busy environment.
