Nursery Practitioner Lead – Level 6

Are you an experienced Early Years professional with a deep understanding of child development and a passion for shaping high-quality early education? Are you ready to play a key role in a brand-new, purpose-built nursery provision at the heart of a vibrant school community?
Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a Level 6 qualified Nursery Practitioner (or equivalent) to help lead a new school-based nursery setting with confidence, creativity, and care. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something from the very beginning – shaping the provision, embedding routines, and helping to establish a warm, ambitious, and inclusive early learning environment for 3- and 4-year-old children.
What Does the Role Require?
As a skilled and experienced practitioner, you will:
* Lead High-Quality Learning Experiences: Plan and deliver activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum that captivate and inspire young minds.
* Act as a Key Person: Build strong, trusting relationships with a group of children and their families, confidently tracking and supporting their progress.
* Enhance Nursery Provision: Contribute to planning, reflection, and continuous improvement to ensure our nursery remains a beacon of excellence.
* Collaborate Closely: Work hand-in-hand with the Nursery Lead and school team to embed routines, create enabling environments, and ensure every child thrives.
* Champion Safeguarding and Inclusion: Proactively identify individual needs early, working collaboratively with external professionals where appropriate.
* Model Excellence: Share your expertise and support junior colleagues, setting a high standard of practice for others to follow.
What Do You Need for This Position?
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualifications: A Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Studies, EYITT, PGCE (Early Years), or equivalent.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework, child development, and effective pedagogy.
* Experience: Proven experience in a nursery or early years setting, ideally in a leadership or key worker role.
* Attributes: A reflective, resilient, and nurturing practitioner committed to continuous professional development.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire children, families, and colleagues.
* Understanding: Deep knowledge of safeguarding and SEND practices within the early years.
