We're on a journey to build a workforce reflective of our Borough.
We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!
Your role:
You will be part of the Council’s Building Control team, providing senior technical support to help deliver an effective, efficient and customerfocused regulatory service. The role focuses on validating Building Control applications, processing submissions and notices, managing inspection requests, calculating fees and supporting statutory processes. You will also help coordinate workflows, maintain accurate records and support colleagues across the service.
Working in a busy environment, you will play an important role in supporting the Council’s Building Control function to respond to evolving regulatory requirements, including changes in building safety legislation, whilst ensuring a highquality service to residents, developers and partners.
About you:
We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with experience in a technical or administrative role, ideally within Building Control, planning or a related regulatory environment. You will have strong attention to detail and be confident working with structured processes, systems and data.
You should be able to manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and provide clear advice to customers. Experience of validating applications, calculating fees or working with statutory processes would be advantageous, however, we also welcome candidates with strong transferable skills and the ability and commitment to develop specialist knowledge within Building Control. Full training and support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
About us:
