Are you an experienced level 3 Nursery Nurse looking for the next step as a Team Leader? Or perhaps interested in moving to a new workplace that takes staff wellbeing seriously?
In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day running of an allocated room, including daily care routines, activities, developmental reviews, and supervising level 2 and 3 Nursery Practitioners. You may also support an apprentice.
You will be working within a NHS Foundation Trust committed to delivering high‑quality care.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the standards of care and learning opportunities for children, supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Assist the Manager/Deputy Manager with development and administration of the nursery, and take responsibility in their absence.
* Ensure that the highest Health & Safety standards, OFSTED regulations and Organisation policies and procedures are maintained.
* Accept full day to day responsibility for the efficient running of a specific room, ensuring children's needs are met and concerns are identified and raised with the Nursery Manager or Deputy immediately.
* Supervise Nursery Nurses, Nursery Assistants, apprentices and students within your allocated room.
* Compile and maintain development records on children and report to the Nursery Manager at agreed intervals, ensuring records are accurate, signed and dated.
* Demonstrate and lead good practice regarding special needs and inclusion, working with the nursery and area INCO as appropriate.
* Open and close the nursery.
* Ensure standards of care and education are appropriate for the room and aligned with OFSTED/EYFS requirements.
* Build relationships with children and families, serving as a key carer.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
* Solid background in childcare.
* In‑depth knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection.
