Overview
Advert We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and experienced leader to join our Children’s Services team to lead on the implementation of the Whole Family Wellbeing Plan in Renfrewshire. You will maintain high standards of professional practice and delivery of targeted, data driven support for families in keeping with the principles of holistic family support to ensure that families can get the help they need, where and when they need it.
You will work as part of our management and leadership team influencing transformational change across Renfrewshire, linking the work of Family Wellbeing workstreams to Renfrewshire's commitment to deliver The Promise. A key part of this will be developing and maintaining effective joint working with all agencies involved in children's services and in the wider Community Planning partnership including the third sector. You will participate in statutory multi‑agency strategic planning processes relating to Whole Family Wellbeing and The Promise.
Responsibilities
* As Family Wellbeing Manager, you will lead and manage multiple teams / services within Renfrewshire.
* You will be responsible for the strategic development of key areas of service activity, embed GIRFEC principles, manage digital systems, expand parenting programmes, and promote co‑produced, inclusive services aligned with Renfrewshire's strategic priorities and national reporting requirements.
Qualifications
* Essential: a degree level qualification, proven experience of leading and managing a complex service or team in line with professional standards and codes of practice, experience of senior leadership within a professional environment and knowledge of government policies and national objectives relating to Whole Family Wellbeing.
* Proven record of effective partnership working and delivering outcomes with other public sector organisations, experience of formulating and implementing strategic plans, contributing to successful service projects and improvements, effective budget management and accountability for service delivery.
* Comprehensive understanding of service delivery in a local authority setting, working knowledge of legislation and best practice as it impacts on delivery of children’s services in a local authority or third sector setting, analytical skills to explore, evaluate and interpret complex situations and to deliver agreed outcomes and raise performance standards.
* Essential written and communication skills, including the ability to produce reports on complex issues, effective persuasive and influencing skills, with the ability to present ideas and proposals to senior levels, and effective leadership and interpersonal skills to form positive relationships at all levels.
* Ability to make recommendations based on sound risk management principles and contingency planning within financial, legal and ethical frameworks; ability to make decisions based on analysis of options; computer literacy.
