CNC Milling Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator – Location: Coventry – Job Type: Permanent – Salary: £18–£19 per hour (£36,504–£38,532 per annum)
Working Hours
* Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (Flexible start: 6:00 am, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30)
* Friday: 7:30 am – 12:30 pm (Flexible start: 6:00 am, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30)
Responsibilities
* Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines (3‑ and 5‑axis)
* Interpret engineering drawings and 3D digital files
* Produce prototypes and small production runs
* Perform inspections of work using CMM and manual methods
* Ensure work meets agreed specifications and quality standards
* Provide technical support to cell members on programming, fixturing, and machine settings
* Foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with team members
Qualifications
* Proven technical leadership experience
* Relevant engineering qualifications (ideally apprenticeship trained)
* Time‑served or equivalent precision machining experience
* Competence in Heidenhain controls and programming (essential)
* Ability to prove unproven programs safely
* Skilled in inspecting own work using CMMs and gauges
* CAM experience (preferably with EDGECAM)
* Familiarity with a wide range of materials (Inconel, titanium, mild steels, brass, aluminium‑bronze, bronzes, plastics, super duplex)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Team player with a flexible approach
