Are you a driven and detail-oriented Procurement professional looking to take the next step in your career? This leading manufacturer and engineering services provider working across various sectors is seeking a Buyer to join their growing team.
Role Overview:
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services to support the production schedule. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to manage procurement activities, optimise inventory, and drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Raise and manage purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.
* Provide forecasts and schedules to suppliers aligned with customer demand.
* Monitor and report on supplier on-time delivery performance.
* Control open orders to support both demand and business cashflow.
* Collaborate with Logistics and Accounts to resolve Goods-In discrepancies.
* Expedite material shortages and reduce transaction errors.
* Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers for cost-saving opportunities.
* Manage and optimise inventory levels, including implementing Kanban/direct line feed.
* Identify and source new suppliers when needed.
* Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
* Drive measurable process improvement initiatives across the procurement function.
Requirements:
* 1-3 years' experience in a similar procurement role.
* Budget management and cost control skills.
* Familiarity with ERP systems.
* Proven experience in developing and improving purchasing processes.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* 'A' Level qualification or equivalent.
* CIPS qualified or working toward.
* Degree educated (desirable)
Monday to Thursday 7:45am to 5:15pm. Friday 7:45am to 1pm.
