The unit is a 15 bedded, Vascular ward based at Royal Preston Hospital which is open to both elective and urgent pathway for the vascular patient. We are supported by consultants, specialist vascular therapy team and vascular specialist nurse, we also have an advanced clinical practitioner.

Main duties of the job
You must have a proven ability in supervising, managing and controlling the activities of a ward in an effective and efficient manner.
You will be a clinical role model and have a willingness to develop the team as well as your own professional growth.
You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike.
You must have ward based experience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse or
Matron in ensuring the provision of excellent
care with compassion for the patients, relatives
and visitors who are cared for within or by the
ward, department, service or team.
2. Ensure a high standard of nursing is delivered
by self and others based on assessment,
planning, implementation and evaluation of care
to meet patients’ needs in accordance with
agreed local and National standards and
evidence based guidelines
3. Assist and support the Ward Manager in the safe,
effective management of the area including
management of personnel, facilities and the
associated systems and processes.

4. Awareness of recent advances within Nursing practice
