Job summary
Release and Transfer Clinical Lead to join Primary Care team at HMP Britxton, a category C prison in London.
Hours and salary
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00‑16:00 or 09:00‑17:00. Full‑time position with salary up to £63,119 per annum, depending on experience.
Right to Work and Vetting
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Responsibilities
* Hold complex case release meetings and attend prison release meetings to ensure an adequate handover.
* Work alongside the Mental Health Clinical Lead to deliver a seamless service for patients.
* Implement the pathway that creates a smooth transition for patients back into the community or to another establishment.
* Oversee management of assessments of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.
Qualifications
* Qualified Adult Nurse with NMC PIN.
* Evidence of implementation of local and national policies (e.g., NICE guidance), developing protocols/care pathways and monitoring effectiveness.
* Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise in decision making and judgment.
* Knowledge of clinical audit and its relationship to research.
