We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Workshop Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to oversee the daily operations of the workshop. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for driving team performance. You will be responsible for ensuring that all workshop activities run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Duties
Supervise and lead a small team of workshop staff
Manage daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies within the workshop.
Maintain high standards of quality control and oversee the completion of projects on time. Checking items are correct before being sent out to the customer
Handle administrative tasks such as inventory management, reporting, and record keeping.
Develop and implement training programmes for staff to enhance skills and performance.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service. Visiting clients on a regular basis, delivering parts to them, ensuring parts arrive undamaged
Machinery maintenance. Ensuring all machinery is running in a safe manner
Utilise effective time management strategies to optimise productivity within the team.
What we are looking for-
Proven experience ( a minimum of 5 years) in a supervisory or managerial role within a workshop or similar environment. You will ideally have worked in kitchen fitting/carpentry but this is not essential. A technical understanding of manufacturing processes is required
Strong leadership skills with the ability to also be hands-on when deadlines need to be met
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Proficient in administrative tasks with strong phone etiquette for client interactions.
Demonstrated experience in sales management is preferred but not essential.
Ability to manage time effectively while prioritising multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Full clean driving licence (driving a manual van)
