About the Role
Our Thetford site is a breaded and coated product centre of excellence within the UK Poultry (Added Value) division. Our Thetford operation is a breaded/coated product centre of excellence. As a value added, non-kill site we have no live animals or butchery onsite.
It uses best in class equipment, which enables the site to deliver significant environmental benefits. The low-energy building is the flagship development within the 2 Sisters Food Group.
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will be the front-line engineering solution for all site engineering needs. You will carry out both reactive and proactive maintenance activities, ensuring a right-first-time approach to breakdowns and planned maintenance schedules.
You will document all engineering activity on the CMMS system, support site production targets, and contribute to the delivery of the site engineering strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend planned maintenance windows, ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and production ready
* Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner, delivering the engineering promise
* Support the Operations team to meet production targets
* Carry out reactive and proactive mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Complete all required work detailed in the daily engineering plan
* Accurately document all work carried out on the CMMS system and log time against the correct assets
* Identify, request, and follow up on parts required for further work
* Ensure all engineering parts used are correctly booked out of stores
* Maintain correct stock holdings through accurate parts scanning
* Attend engineering handovers and respond promptly to radio calls
* Report any safety concerns immediately
* Always work safely and adhere to all site and company rules
About You
You will be an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias, comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You'll be proactive, disciplined, and able to act with pace while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
You'll be equally confident working independently or as part of a wider engineering team and capable of stepping up to support leadership when required.
Key Skills / Qualifications
* Accredited engineering qualification
* Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 minimum
* Experience working in a food manufacturing or fast-paced industrial environment
* Strong fault-finding skills in mechanical and electrical systems
* Experience in reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance
* Good health & safety knowledge and awareness
* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Food Safety Level 2 or higher desirable
