Behaviour Support Assistant – Ferryhill
Start Date: September
Looking for a role where you can make a real difference, not just in the classroom, but in a child’s day-to-day life?
We’re working with a welcoming school in Ferryhill that’s on the lookout for Behaviour Support Assistants to join them this September. You’ll be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them feel understood, settled, and ready to learn.
This isn’t just a job, it’s the kind of role where the small wins really matter. The calm conversation, the breakthrough moment, the trust you build over time.
What’s in it for you?
• A full academic year role, giving you consistency and routine
• The chance to build genuine, lasting relationships with pupils
• Ongoing training and support, you won’t be left to figure it out alone
• Work that’s genuinely rewarding, every single day
What you’ll be doing
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
• Helping children regulate emotions and feel safe in school
• Encouraging engagement, even on the tricky days
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to keep things consistent
What we’re looking for
• Experience working with behaviour needs or SEMH
• A calm, patient approach, especially when things get challenging
• Someone who builds trust easily and communicates well
• Consistency, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
If you’re the kind of person who stays steady when things feel a bit wobbly, this could be a great fit.
And if you’ve got (or are open to gaining) Thrive training, even better, it’s a brilliant way to deepen your impact in roles like this.
