Job Description
* raft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests, court forms, and correspondence.
* File legal documents with courts and other agencies electronically or in person, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
* Maintain and organize physical and digital case files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.
* Manage attorney calendars including court dates, client meetings, deadlines, and travel arrangements.
* Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
* Prepare and process billing statements, time entries, and expense reports.
* Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, witness lists, and legal research as directed.
* Monitor and follow up on case progress and deadlines using case management software.
* Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting as appropriate
The Successful Applicant
* Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant, preferably in Family Law.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
* Strong knowledge of family law procedures, terminology, and court filing systems.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
