Are you looking to develop your dietetic skills working with adults with a range of conditions in the community setting ? This post is based within the Community Nutrition and Dietetic team in Scunthorpe and is the ideal place to continue to develop your dietetic career.

You will be an experienced specialist autonomous practitioner, who acts within your professional boundaries, carrying the responsibility for a defined caseload of patients and will offer specialist dietary advice. This will include performing complex nutritional assessments and the development, implementation and evaluation of dietetic care. You will act as an expert professional and will provide advice and knowledge on appropriate nutritional interventions for symptom control and disease management.

You will receive ongoing informal and structured support from your Clinical Lead, including support to become a Preceptor.

You will have the opportunity for a high degree of autonomy in your clinical practice and day-to-day organisation of your work, within the context of a friendly and supportive team of dietetic colleagues. You will be encouraged to participate in service developments and will be able to access excellent training and support from the Trust’s Quality Improvement team. There will also be opportunities to train other health care professionals and as your own clinical skills develop, you will become actively involved in student training with support to develop clinical supervisory skills.

You will contribute to the delivery of community dietetic services at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

You will use specialist dietetic knowledge to undertake nutritional assessment and treatment of patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, determining clinical diagnosis and the dietetic treatment.

You will work closely with other members of multidisciplinary teams (MDT) including attendance where required at best interest meetings and MDT meetings.

You will be actively involved in implementation of specific changes to practice and contribute to service development.

You will provide support and supervision to junior dietitians acting as a preceptor as well as providing support to dietetic learners and other non registered department members as required.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
