Position: Multimodal Freight OperatorLocation: Eastleigh, SouthamptonHours: Monday - Friday 8:30-17:00Salary up to £36,000We are currently supporting the search for an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator to join a well-established and growing freight forwarding business.This is an excellent opportunity for an operations-focused freight professional to join a dynamic team delivering end-to-end logistics solutions across sea freight and European road movements.About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing multimodal shipments across sea freight and European road freight, ensuring smooth operational delivery from origin to destination.This is a hands-on operational position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational ability, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.You will work closely with internal teams, carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure shipments are processed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with service expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end multimodal freight operations (primarily sea freight and European road)Coordinate import and export shipments from booking through to final deliveryLiaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customersPrepare and process customs documentation, including CDS import/export entriesEnsure compliance with customs regulations and internal proceduresProvide proactive updates and resolve operational issues as they ariseDeliver a high level of customer service and operational accuracySupport the wider operations team with daily freight forwarding activityRequired Experience & SkillsProven experience within multimodal freight forwarding, ideally sea freight and European road focusedWorking knowledge of CDS import and export proceduresStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneouslyDetail-focused with a strong problem-solving mindsetConfident communicator with good stakeholder management skillsDesirable (Not Essential)Experience handling dangerous goods (DG) shipmentsExposure to air freight operationsPrevious experience in a fast-paced freight forwarding environmentWhat's on OfferOpportunity to join a well-established and growing freight forwarding businessVaried multimodal operational role with responsibility and autonomySupportive team environment with strong industry expertiseWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
