Geo-Environmental Engineer
Central Alliance, a member of the RSK Group, is seeking an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their growing team in Wakefield, UK.

As a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will mainly work outdoors, supporting the Geo division. The role is based from the Wakefield office but can be carried out from any location within the UK, with a significant portion of time spent in the field and overnight stays in local accommodation. This is a full‑time, permanent position.
Accountabilities
* Supervision and management of ground investigations
* Travel throughout the UK, working away from home approx. 80% of the time; remaining 20% from the Wakefield office
* Logging of soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020
* Managing ground investigation works, including pricing, liaising with suppliers and preparing health and safety documentation
* Managing on‑site safety, paperwork and subcontractors
* Adherence to working instructions from internal and external clients
* Factual reporting, data processing and data management
* Completion of desk based studies
* Assisting senior staff with project related duties
* Overseeing department equipment – allocation, hire, servicing and repairs
* Attending and passing internal and industry‑recognised external training courses (PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, towing licence, CAT, first aid, manual handling)
* Adherence to SHEQ policies and procedures
* Maintenance of ground investigation engineering equipment
About You
* BSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geology or Geography
* Experience in supervising and managing ground investigation contracts
* Knowledge of Construction, Design & Management regulations and health & safety documentation production
* Unwavering commitment to safety and continuous improvement
* Experience of people management
* Flexible approach to work and ability to adapt to change
* Self‑motivated, solutions‑focused, organised with effective time management and a positive attitude
* Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to work flexible hours and at various UK locations when required
* Adaptable to variable working environments with a love of the outdoors
* Valid UK driving licence
* Unrestricted work rights in the United Kingdom
