Overview
Arun Veterinary Group – Chichester
Based at our busy Chichester Hospital & Westergate Branch Clinic
You became a vet so you could change the lives of pets and their owners. We share that calling. But we also understand that to be at your best for your patients, you need support, work-life balance and opportunities for growth. We believe that every veterinary professional should feel part of a community that builds them up, connects them with their passion and helps them thrive. That’s why we built Arun Veterinary Group. Together, we’re ‘more than a vets’. We’re proudly independent, and the freedom that this brings sets us apart. Clinical freedom; freedom to deliver care with a personal touch; freedom to do what’s right.
Be (truly) valued
We’re constructive, encouraging, and kind to one another – always. Inclusivity and collaboration ensure everyone feels respected and valued. The equality, kindness and closeness that unites our team shapes our work; we treat our clients with respect, kindness, empathy, and professionalism.
Feel the difference
As a first opinion GP vet, you will be based across our state-of-the-art hospital in Chichester and our thriving Westergate branch clinic. The interior design in our clinics provides a warm, comforting, home-from-home feeling. It’s hard to put into words, but you’ll feel the difference as soon as you walk through the door. We work collaboratively with our on-site night team and Advanced-Practitioner referral service to deliver exceptional, personalised care to our patients 24/7.
Qualifications
You’ll be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS) with at least 3 years of small animal practice experience, at least 1 year of which should have been in the UK. We would consider a consult-only vet for this role.
Most importantly, you’ll share and demonstrate our values. These are humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork.
Benefits
Your benefits will include generously funded CPD (£1500 per year (£2000 if you’re an Advanced Practitioner), 5 days off in lieu, certificate funding available); standard pension benefit; 40% staff discount for own pets; generous holiday (7 weeks, including bank holidays) and occupational health resources, including mental health support. Once with us for some time, you will also benefit from enhanced parental leave (6 months paid at 90%) and enhanced sickness benefit (2 weeks at 100%).
Rota
Ideally 3 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays. Our standard shifts are 10-hours with various times between 7.30am-7.30pm with a 1-hour lunch break each day. We would consider adjusted shift times if required and provided this maintained fairness across our vet team.
We would consider 2 days per week (Tues & Fri) for the right candidate.
All our vets are expected to contribute towards to our weekend, bank holiday and on-call rotas. Exactly what this looks like can be discussed collaboratively at interview.
