Job overview
We are recruiting 3 Full-Time Clinical Fellows in Simulation or Peri-Operative Medicine in Anaesthetics & ICM, starting September 2025 for 1 year.
This role supports departmental and Trust programs and is suitable for trainees completing Core Training seeking additional obstetrics and ICU experience, potentially counting as a CT3 ‘top-up’ year.
Main duties
This position is ideal for trainees with at least 24 months of anaesthesia experience, including initial assessment of competence (IAC). Experience in obstetric anaesthesia is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities
Full GMC registration is essential.
Appointed at ST3+ level based on experience and competence. The role includes daytime and night-time ICU cover.
The department provides comprehensive anaesthetic services, excluding cardiac and neurosurgery, with support for professional development including study time and funding.
Person specification
Education
* Medical Degree with full GMC registration
* At least one year postgraduate training in anaesthesia
* APLS/ATLS/ALS Certification
Experience
* End of core training (CT1/2) in Anaesthetics & Critical Care
* Strong communication skills
* Experience with diverse case loads and multidisciplinary teams
* Minimum 1 year UK clinical experience preferred
Skills
* Effective team working and relationship development
* Understanding of clinical governance
Audit and Research
* Experience in medical audit within the last 18 months
* Knowledge of scientific research principles
