Our client, a global power distribution company, is seeking an experienced IT Analyst for a contract position. This role involves supporting sites in the Midlands and North Midlands, providing technical assistance to local and remote users.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy, configure, and support end-user hardware such as PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
* Install and support operating systems and productivity software.
* Follow ITSM processes including asset, change, incident, request, problem, and project management to meet service levels.
* Provide on-site IT support and resolve technical issues.
* Participate in root cause analysis and long-term problem management.
* Act as a key contact between IT and users, promote standards, and share best practices.
* Ensure compliance with company policies on ethics, data protection, information security, and HR, safeguarding physical and information assets.
Site locations:
Based out of one site 2-3 days a week as a 'home base'. The other days involve travel to support other sites.
* West Midlands (1 site)
* Occasional travel to Lincolnshire (1 site)
Travel expenses are covered, and some travel time is paid.
Job Requirements:
Own transport and a full driving license are required.
Education:
* Associate degree or high school diploma (required)
* Bachelor's degree (preferred)
* CompTIA A+ certification
Experience:
* Hands-on IT support experience
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Office suites
* Experience with hardware such as PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
* Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage, and phone systems
* Familiarity with manufacturing IT equipment like barcode scanners, RF scanners, industrial PCs, and specialty printers
* Understanding of cybersecurity principles
Soft Skills:
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to adapt in fast-paced IT environments
* Knowledge of ITSM processes
* Ability to work independently
