PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 - £28,700 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Scotland Business and Operations delivers creative technical broadcast solutions and services that support programme-making and production teams across TV, Radio, and digital platforms. Our services include TV Studios, Outside Broadcast facilities, Radio resources, Visualisation solutions, and Post Production, all based at BBC Scotland.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Schedule and contract resources (staff, facilities, equipment) in line with production and transmission needs, operational objectives, and BBC terms and conditions.
* Collaborate with scheduling colleagues and across the craft and wider support teams, to support forward planning.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of standard rates and engaging freelance effort as needed, in response to resourcing requirements.
* Make informed decisions and be responsible for cost-effective scheduling of resources, particularly the management of overtime, freelance and casual spend.
* Ensure accuracy of data in the scheduling system, including management of leave and absence requests.
* Undertake projects as required and demonstrate flexibility in approach.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* Key to the role is forming strong collaborative working relationships with technical staff and having a clear understanding of programme requirements and resource planning.
* Experience with scheduling systems and strong IT proficiency.
* Ability to assess priorities, work independently, and manage conflicting demands in a busy environment.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail; capable of interpreting and communicating complex information.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills; able to balance priorities and make informed decisions.
* Calm under pressure, proactive, resilient, and creative in problem-solving.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
* Have, or be able to build, in depth knowledge of BBC terms, conditions, and policies relevant to resource scheduling.
* Understanding of BBC output and programming requirements.
* Experience scheduling and planning
