About the role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to join our close-knit creative team, where your work has a visible impact across projects. In this role, you'll support our Studio Manager and Account Managers by preparing and adapting client artwork for promotional products, creating visually engaging materials that meet our clients' objectives.
Alongside client work, you'll also play a key part in maintaining Promise's own content creation and brand presence to ensure our marketing reflects the same creativity and quality we deliver for clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer with 1–2 years' experience to develop both their technical and creative skills, gain insight into print and merchandise design, and be part of a supportive, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Location:
5 days per week at our Hemel Hempstead office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in creating eye-catching designs for various promotional products, including apparel, accessories, and printed materials, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client brand guidelines.
* Prepare print-ready artwork and adapt client files for production across multiple promotional items.
* Collaborate with Account Managers to develop concepts, layouts, and visual elements for client projects.
* Design presentation decks for new projects, turning concepts and ideas into professional, visually engaging presentations.
* Handle routine design tasks, including editing product images for client web stores and preparing print-ready artwork to keep projects running smoothly.
* Design merchandise and gifts for the team while supporting the annual marketing budget to ensure projects are delivered cost-effectively.
* Manage Promise's own marketing by producing digital assets, updating content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and the website, and photographing merchandise projects.
* Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas to elevate the quality of our promotional materials.
* Assist the Studio Manager with project coordination, supplier communications, and holiday cover when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or an equivalent design related qualification.
* A portfolio that demonstrates good design fundamentals, attention to detail, and an understanding of branding.
* 1–2 years' experience in a creative/design role, ideally with exposure to print, digital, or marketing.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
* Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and layout.
* Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital marketing.
* Excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
* Proactive and eager to learn, contribute ideas, and develop creative skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to use initiative, asking the right questions, and unafraid to lead when the idea's right.
* Basic understanding of photography and post editing are a plus.
* Basic website experience is a plus.
