Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Dental Ceramist to join our dental laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and finishing high-quality ceramic dental restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant-supported prosthetics. This role requires a strong eye for aesthetics, attention to detail, and knowledge of dental anatomy, color theory, and ceramic materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate ceramic restorations (crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, bridges, implant prosthetics) to prescribed specifications.
* Apply porcelain to substructures (zirconia, metal, lithium disilicate, etc.) with attention to shape, texture, and natural appearance.
* Perform contouring, layering, and glazing of ceramic restorations to achieve lifelike aesthetics.
* Match shades accurately using dental shade guides, photography, and digital systems.
* Collaborate with dentists, technicians, and laboratory staff to ensure optimal results for patients.
* Operate and maintain ceramic and digital equipment (e.g., furnaces, CAD/CAM systems, milling units).
* Follow laboratory protocols, quality standards, and infection control procedures.
* Stay updated on new materials, techniques, and industry trends.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, occlusion, and morphology.
* Proficiency in layering, contouring, staining, and glazing ceramics.
* Excellent hand–eye coordination and artistic ability.
* Strong color perception and shade-matching skills.
* Experience with digital workflows (CAD/CAM, digital impressions) preferred.
* Ability to work accurately under time constraints.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Commitment to detail, quality, and continuous learning.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a dental ceramist in a professional lab environment.
* Relevant technical qualification (Dental Technology degree, certification, or equivalent).
* Knowledge of ceramic systems (zirconia, lithium disilicate, porcelain-fused-to-metal, etc.).
* Experience with modern lab software and digital workflows (preferred but not essential).
Working Conditions
* Laboratory-based environment with exposure to ceramic powders and materials (protective equipment provided).
* Regular working hours, with flexibility required to meet deadlines.
* May involve sitting or standing for extended periods.

Pay: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
