Key Responsibilities:
BoM Management:
* Create, modify, and maintain complex multilevel SAP Bills of Materials (BoMs) in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
* Ensure BoMs are correctly structured and aligned with product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering change management (ECM) processes.
* Support the release and configuration of prototype and production BoMs.
* Validate BoM accuracy for manufacturability and logistics compatibility in defence vehicle systems.
Master Data Governance:
* Maintain and control SAP master data objects: materials, BoMs, routings, production versions, classification data, and document info records (DIRs).
* Apply data governance standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal procedures and defence regulations.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to standardise and optimise master data processes across multiple programs and platforms.
Cross-Functional Support:
* Act as the interface between engineering, planning, procurement, and production teams to resolve BoM and master data issues.
* Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) through SAP change management tools.
* Contribute to data migration and system implementation activities during new product introductions or SAP upgrades.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance:
* Drive continuous improvement of data quality, structure, and integrity through audits, reports, and root cause analysis.
* Ensure data structures comply with defence industry standards such as ITAR, MoD regulations, and internal quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100).
* Support system enhancements and contribute to SAP projects (EWM, WM, PP, PLM integrations).
What Qualifications You Should Have
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Significant experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the defence or automotive sector.
* Proven experience in SAP ERP systems, with deep functional knowledge of BoM, Material Master, and related transactions (MM, PP, PLM, WM/EWM).
* Understanding and interpreting of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and configuration management.
* Experience working with Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes and tools.
* Knowledge of product lifecycle concepts and industry regulations (e.g., MoD, NATO codification, export control).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and data reporting tools (e.g., SAP Query, LSMW, Winshuttle).
Desirable Skills:
* Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP PLM, or SAP Engineering Control Center (ECTR).
* Experience with defense-specific data standards (e.g., DEF-STANs, NATO STANAGs).
* Familiarity with document management systems and CAD integrations.
* Lean / Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
