This position would suit someone who is detail-oriented with proven experience in Electrical Installation, MEP sector or Renewable energy. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and ensure bid accuracy. The Role In this role you will be responsible for managing the full estimating lifecycle, from interpreting project requirements to producing competitive and accurate bid submissions. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure our proposals are both commercially sound and technically accurate. You will be working as part of a national team of Estimators which have a strong working relationship and may be required to attend site visits at various locations. Reporting into the Head of Estimating, you will be required to be career driven, passionate and wanting to achieve as an individual but also as a team. Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive cost forecasts, factoring in labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Conduct in-depth analysis of drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure accurate pricing. Manage the complete estimating process, from initial enquiry through to final tender submission. Fully appraise client or company requirements in relation to each estimate under your responsibility in order to ensure a complete understanding of the requirements. Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and dependable service. Compile internal tender summary documents or comparison documents for presentation adjudication to Head of Estimating. Prepare clear and structured tender handover documents and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating procedures and workflows. Skills/Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with cost estimating within the MEP Sectors / Building services. Experience with Trimble Estimating software. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Be able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. Effective communication and negotiation skills within the Estimating team and colleagues across the business. Experienced in prime costing / procurement of various packages with the ability to perform accurate analysis of received quotations to ensure sufficiency of tenders. Knowledge on installation methods to enable costs accuracy at various levels of Riba stages.
