Here at TPTUTORS, we are looking to build our tutor talent pool to support our clients with various student referrals.
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced tutors with expertise in Special Educational Needs (SEN). Candidates should be available for approximately 10-15 hours per week on a part-time basis, with some roles starting from 1 hour per week. Tutors will deliver tuition in core subjects, with occasional referrals for other subjects such as business studies or languages. Tuition can be in person (at students' homes, libraries, or community centres) or online, serving Local Authorities and Schools.
Job Duties:
1. Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN in requested subjects, creating your own materials and lesson plans to demonstrate your teaching ability and promote educational progress.
2. Complete session reports after each session using our virtual platform; detailed reports are crucial for monitoring progress, supporting annual and EHCP meetings, and processing payments.
3. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly, demonstrating flexibility and patience to meet individual needs. Use assessments available on our platform to measure progress at the start and end of tuition.
4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and relevant consultants, reporting any challenges to ensure support and safeguarding for all involved.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
* At least 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience
* Strong knowledge of the UK education system
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
* Part-time hours, starting from 1 hour per week
* Temporary roles, lasting until a student gains a school placement or over many academic years
* Flexible scheduling based on your and the student's availability; most sessions are arranged between you and the parent/carer

* References covering 5 years
