Position
Overflow Strategy and Performance Management Lead – River Enhancement team.
Responsible for setting the strategic direction and continuously driving tangible improvement in our storm overflow and emergency overflow spills performance. The role involves ensuring compliance while delivering enhancements to meet and exceed company‑level targets and external performance commitments.
Key Accountabilities
* Delivering insightful performance data for business decision‑making and influencing opportunities.
* Develop the team to exploit data to identify inefficient processes, new opportunities and support high‑quality decision making.
* Create new measures and reports to respond to performance shifts and drive operational teams to measure compliance with strategy, process and regulatory commitments.
* Track delivery and tangible benefits of improvement programs across Waste Networks, escalating issues promptly for optimal outcomes.
* Bridge the gap between overflow strategy and operational teams, translating strategy into practical applications for 12–24‑month horizons, including target setting and in‑year delivery plans.
* Aid future strategic decision making around performance, support ODI development and PR24 targets, assess new ideas for feasibility and impact.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong technical knowledge of waste network processes and experience in operational and regulatory environments.
* Proven ability to analyse complex data and extract actionable insights.
* Experience managing multiple high‑profile performance metrics and delivering step‑changes in results.
* Strong relationship building, stakeholder engagement at all levels and credibility‑building abilities.
* Excellent attention to detail, understanding processes at data‑level and in wider business context.
* Intuitive eye for identifying improvement opportunities through forums, meetings and broader networking.
