The Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist is a highly skilled nursing professional responsible for providing specialised care and support to patients with benign urological conditions. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care, patient education, and the utilization of advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
You will work alongside other urology nurses, developing new skills to manage an increasing caseload. Development and willingness to learn new skills are essential. As a Urology Nurse Specialist, your responsibilities include:
* Working with patients who have benign urology conditions.
* Developing competence in procedures such as trial without catheters, difficult catheterizations, flow rates, bladder instillations, and Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS).
* Providing expert advice related to specific conditions or treatment pathways, focusing on improving patient care and service development.
* Holistically assessing patients, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based care.
* Offering specialist advice to patients' families and carers, and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Carrying out specialist nursing procedures related to benign urological patients.
* Acting in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct.
* Providing a specialist nursing service for patients requiring support and treatment through the continuum of care.
The successful candidate will be able to manage a caseload of patients, delivering high-quality care.
