Role Title:Project Manager
Business Unit: Small Works Team
Location:Yorkshire
Role Purpose:
As a Project Manager you will successfully deliver projects on time, within budget and to client specification. The project will vary in size and complexity. You will be required to travel within the UK as per business requirements to deliver projects in various UK locations.
What you’ll Be Doing:
* Lead and support the delivery of construction and redevelopment projects.
* Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery and accountability throughout.
* Promote and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive working environment where everyone goes home safely.
* Ensure compliance with CDM principles and all relevant legislation.
* Work collaboratively with designers to deliver safe, buildable, and efficient designs within programme timelines.
* Facilitate collaborative workshops, encouraging open input and shared problem-solving across teams.
* Support the selection and onboarding of contractors in line with company standards and values.
* Work closely with the Commercial Team to select diverse, high-performing supply chain partners.
* Ensure all pre-commencement and regulatory requirements are met before work begins.
* Plan and coordinate project delivery across the full lifecycle.
* Oversee temporary and permanent works to ensure alignment with agreed designs.
* Lead the set-up of site offices and compounds, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and well-organised.
* Encourage the use of innovative technologies and ways of working.
* Support site inductions for all team members and subcontractors, ensuring clear expectations from day one.
* Proactively manage risks and opportunities alongside the Commercial Manager.
* Partner with the Commercial Team to manage costs, improve cash flow, and capture scope changes.
* Ensure incidents are investigated thoroughly, with learning shared to continuously improve safety and performance.
* Take ownership of quality standards and support teams in delivering right-first-time outcomes.
* Guide and support subcontractors to achieve high performance and quality delivery.
* Monitor subcontractor performance and provide constructive feedback.
* Ensure sites meet all external compliance and audit requirements.
* Support subcontractors in meeting safety, quality, and programme expectations.
* Review and approve RAMS, COSHH assessments, and safety plans as required.
* Work collaboratively with construction teams and supply chain partners to deliver within budget, programme, and scope.
* Ensure clear and timely internal and external reporting.
About You:
* Proven experience in successfully managing multiple subcontractactors.
* Expertise in developing a performance culture.
* Advanced communication skills adept at interfacing with multiple stakeholders both internal and external.
* Strong knowledge of CDM 15.
* Excellent knowledge of JCT & NEC and commercially astute.
* Proven leadership and delegation skills.
* Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
* HNC/Degree.
* IOSH / NEBOSH qualification.
* Qualification in an Engineering Discipline
* SMSTS (desirable)
