We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school environment in Penarth, South Wales. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support pupils aged 7–19 in a dynamic educational setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1-to-1 and small group behaviour support to pupils. Assist pupils with academic tasks and promote engagement in the classroom. Support students during break times and lunch, especially during challenging periods. Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques. Offer personal care support where needed (training provided). Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists. Requirements: Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply. EWC registration or willingness to register. Experience supporting children with behavioural needs. Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASC. Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
