Senior Academic Administrator
In this 18-month fixed term role, you would be a senior member of the University of Greater Manchester's 20‑strong Academic Support Service, contributing to the effective management and organisation of administrative functions to support academic programmes. Team members in this role provide leadership and motivation in collaboration with academic and professional colleagues to ensure that an excellent quality of provision of administrative services is achieved and maintained at all times. The post holder will coordinate a complex range of activities to maximise resource utilisation and added value.
This particular vacancy will be focused on administrative involvement with student Special Circumstances, Fitness to Practice and administration of Academic Malpractice meetings. The successful applicant will be able to work flexibly to come alongside other Senior Academic Administrator colleagues and support as needed in peak periods across schools.
All post holders are required to take ownership of their own performance and the relationships they build with students, partners, the public and colleagues, demonstrating a positive attitude and commitment to their work. They are also expected to supervise and mentor other administrators in their immediate team. All post holders are required to work flexibly and across the university and the service as demand necessitates.
We are looking for a candidate with in-depth knowledge of academic administration, ideally with knowledge of SITS and able to demonstrate a highly professional attitude with on‑campus and partnership colleagues.
Successful applicants will be required to prove their right to work in the UK prior to the commencement of their employment.
