About the Job In this role, you will: • Manage day-to-day resource allocation, matching staff to tasks based on skills and availability, and adjusting in real time to meet business needs. • Collaborate with Heads of Internal Audit and other Engagement Leads to respond quickly to shifting priorities and adjust resource assignments accordingly. • Supervise resource capacity and utilisation, using data to identify gaps or surpluses, coordinate short-term solutions, and provide regular insights to support management decision-making. • Maintain and update the resource management system with accurate, real-time information on staff availability, skills, and task progress. • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for operational teams and senior stakeholders regarding resource-related issues and act promptly to resolve issues or workload imbalances. • Promote improvements in resource coordination practices, utilising available technology and tools to enhance efficiency. The Operational Resource Manager role is crucial in coordinating the day-to-day operational resource activities within GIAA, ensuring effective staff utilisation and timely allocation to engagements. The Operational Resource Manager (ORM) will focus on resource allocation within their Directorate, working closely with other ORMs to address immediate resource needs, manage updates and in-year changes, and ensure equitable workload distribution. Taking responsibility for producing management information, analysing trends, and supporting operational performance across the Directorate the role includes workforce planning, maintaining accurate resource data, and assisting with contractor onboarding to enable effective decision-making. About You You will demonstrate a strong understanding of resourcing methodologies, workforce planning, and capability development, with the ability to apply these effectively in a dynamic environment. You should have experience managing differing client needs and priorities, balancing service delivery with relevant commercial considerations. The role requires you to be aware of how to produce, interpret, and confidently discuss team metrics, including chargeability data and wider workforce management information. You will input to and support change at both team and organisational level, adopting a continuous improvement approach that contributes to the organisation’s wider corporate responsibilities. You will require strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage workloads, coordinate across teams, and resolve operational issues. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and maintaining consistent resource deployment.
