Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Mainstream School Location: Blackburn Full-Time | Mon-Fri | 8:30am-3:30pm | Term Time Only Pay: £85-£95 per day, dependent on experience Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and thrive in their education? Tradewind are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Blackburn, working as part of their dedicated pastoral and inclusion team. You will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting emotional regulation, and creating a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment for pupils who require additional behavioural or pastoral support. Key Responsibilities Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to improve behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation. Implement behaviour strategies and interventions as outlined in support plans or provision maps. Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere. Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel supported and understood. Contribute to the development and review of Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and pastoral targets. Liaise with parents/carers, SENDCO, pastoral leads, and external professionals. Monitor, record, and report behaviour incidents and intervention outcomes. Provide supervision and support during break and lunchtime where required. What We're Looking For A genuine passion for supporting children and young people. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Calm, patient, and resilient when managing challenging behaviour. Experience in a mainstream school, behaviour support role, SEN setting, or youth work (desirable). Good organisational skills and basic IT competence.
