Position: Supply SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £88.94 – £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE – no umbrella fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that suits you
About the Role
Working as a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant in specialist SEN schools, you will support pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and communication needs. You will help pupils engage with learning, manage emotions and behaviour, and achieve personalised outcomes within a structured and supportive school environment.
These roles suit adaptable, confident individuals who enjoy SEN supply work and value flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 and small group SEN support
• Assist pupils with emotional regulation and learning engagement
• Implement behaviour support and care plans
• Support classroom routines and structured learning
• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing
• Maintain a calm and consistent presence
Candidate Requirements
* SEN or SEMH experience (essential)
• Knowledge of additional needs (SEMH, ASD, ADHD, communication needs)
• Confident supporting challenging behaviour
• Patient, resilient and reliable
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to apply)
• CACHE/NVQ Level 2 or 3 desirable
• Team Teach or behaviour training beneficial
