EDGE OF CARE SERVICE
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new for our children and their families in Stockton. We are inviting applicants with a range of skills and the ability to work creatively with families to engage hard-to-reach families. In Stockton, we value the power of good relationships, understanding that honesty, transparency, and trust are essential to making a difference in children’s lives. The importance of strong and lasting relationships cannot be underestimated, and we are committed to a relationship-based approach in everything we do.
We believe that children are best cared for by their families and communities whenever possible. Sometimes, families find this difficult and need support and intervention to stay together. To improve our services, we are investing in establishing a dedicated team to support families at critical times, prevent family breakdown, and avoid children entering the care system, enabling them to stay within their families and thrive.
The team will work alongside children, families, and other services to provide rapid, robust interventions for children on the edge of care. The team will deliver intensive interventions, including evenings and weekends, to support children to remain in their homes safely. We aim to help families find creative solutions, manage crises, and sustain positive change long-term.
As a Senior Family Worker, you will work with children, families, and professionals to overcome barriers threatening family stability—a pivotal role in impacting a child's life. Regardless of your background, if you believe you can make a difference, we welcome your application. The work is intensive and requires establishing effective relationships, showing empathy, understanding, and supporting behavioral change. You will receive support to develop these skills, knowing your work makes a real difference.
We offer an excellent total reward package, including:
* A competitive salary of up to £31,364 (plus pending pay award)
* 27 days annual leave, increasing to 32 with 5 years of service (plus bank holidays). Additional leave can be purchased.
* Generous LGPS Pension Scheme with options to pay extra for retirement planning.
* Other benefits: learning & development opportunities, car lease scheme, retail discounts, employee assistance, physiotherapy services.
For detailed information, please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
We look forward to your application. For more information, contact Stephen Heslop, Edge of Care Team Manager, at 01642 527965.
