Clinical Lead- People Flexi-Bank

Band 7

Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Lead to join the People Flexi-Bank - our Temporary Staffing Team - acting as the strategic and professional clinical link between our temporary workforce and operational service areas.

This is a pivotal role in ensuring our temporary clinical staff are appropriately trained, supported, and deployed to deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. You will lead the clinical engagement of a diverse, multi-disciplinary temporary workforce, ensuring they are skills-matched to service needs, while maintaining professional standards and promoting continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job

As Clinical Lead, you will:

Provide clinical leadership and direct line management for our clinical bank staff.

Ensure all temporary workers, including agency staff, are appropriately qualified, trained, and competent for their placements.

Work closely with the E-Rostering and Temporary Staffing Manager to implement and support Trust-wide initiatives that improve service quality and cost-effectiveness.

Lead on clinical orientation, education, competency programmes, and ongoing professional development for temporary staff.

Act as the clinical advisor for all temporary staffing processes, contributing to the development of policies, best practices, and evidence-based approaches.

Represent the Trust at local and regional levels, promoting high standards in temporary staffing delivery.

Provide assurance that agency workers deployed meet Trust requirements and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

Working for our organisation

Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you that you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.

We are clinically led and provide joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have given us an overall rating of Outstanding.

Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.

Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
