Rate: £51 - £63 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Duration: 12 months
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC clearance
About the Project
This role is part of the UK Tails Management Facility (TMF) programme, a major project supporting the safe processing of depleted uranium hexafluoride. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering scope across complex equipment such as gloveboxes, pumps, filters, sampling cabinets, lifts, cranes, and hoists-ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient solutions for this critical facility.
The Role
You will manage the delivery of mechanical engineering and technical activities, from producing specifications and datasheets through to risk assessments, design reviews, and technical reports. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll apply engineering standards, codes, and regulations while supporting project safety assessments and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and review of specifications, datasheets, calculations, and technical deliverables for mechanical equipment.
2. Carry out and review Designer Risk Assessments (DRAs) across PUWER, PED, and work environments.
