Location: Kettering – Lecturer – Social Sciences – INTERNAL ONLY. Tresham College – Kettering Campus. Salary £33,048–£38,169 per annum (Pro‑Rata) depending on experience and qualifications. 45 days annual leave (Pro‑Rata) plus bank holidays. About the Role
* Deliver, assess and support students across Access to HE programmes in Social Sciences, enabling learners to achieve their full potential and progress successfully.
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons, develop innovative learning resources, assess to awarding‑body standards, and track progress to meet retention and achievement targets.
* Contribute proactively to curriculum design and review, teach specialist subjects (e.g. psychology, sociology, criminology), and support the development of new courses.
* Provide tutorials and pastoral support, act as a designated tutor and subject mentor, interview applicants, and enhance learning through vocational links and enrichment activities.
* Uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, participate in quality processes, marketing and college‑wide activities, and work in line with TBCG values and policies.
About You
* Hold a relevant qualification in social sciences at least one level above that taught, with excellent subject knowledge and understanding.
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management, organisational and prioritisation skills to deliver high‑quality teaching under demanding conditions.
* Strong written and verbal communication, high‑level IT skills (including Microsoft Office), and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
* Be able to work independently or collaboratively, meet deadlines, adapt to changing workloads and build strong professional relationships.
