Right now, we are looking for a technician to join our Engineering Team at our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a technician with experience in the maintenance of all plant and equipment associated with a major distribution centre.
The Facilities Technician will be responsible in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service within the FC. The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operation. If equipment is not available or performs badly, it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Key Responsibilities
1. To put health & safety best practices first in all work conducted, ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations.
2. To perform routine maintenance and servicing on a variety of equipment and systems.
3. To react quickly to breakdowns, and to communicate clearly with affected parties and to work efficiently to fix the issue.
4. To conduct checks and inspections on a regular basis and test systems for safe operation.
5. To provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
6. Consult with contractors and suppliers.
Qualifications & Experience
7. Proficient in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, with a multi-skilled approach.
8. Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining planned maintenance systems.
9. Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment.
10. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical schematics.
11. Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, always ensuring compliance.
12. Excellent communication skills, able to effectively collaborate and convey information.
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
14. Proven ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
15. Extensive experience in fault-finding and repairs across building systems, including HVAC, dock doors, plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance.
16. Proficient in the use of both hand and power tools, with a solid foundation of practical skills.
17. Competent in basic computer applications, ensuring smooth operation of maintenance-related software systems.
