This role is part of the Family Safeguarding model, working alongside adult focussed practitioners to inform assessments and plans in the specialist areas of substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health.

What will I be doing?
As a Family Safeguarding social worker you will manage a manageable caseload of children and young people, listen to their voices, and support them to identify strengths and create positive change. You will work with parents and the wider family network using Family Group Conferencing, and receive regular, reflective group and personal supervision from permanent Team Managers.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
You will be passionate about relationship‑based social work, proud of your profession, and able to reflect and think creatively. You must be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and have substantial experience working with children and families in social work.

Please Note: We may consider offering Skilled Worker visa sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas social workers who are already residing in the UK. Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Sponsorship will be assessed as part of the recruitment process. This is only available to candidates currently living in the UK; we are unable to provide resettlement support.
Based in Taunton, you will need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle as travel is required. Due to the importance of the role, we recommend applying as soon as possible. Depending on the level of response, we may anticipate conducting interviews ahead of the closing date.
The salary is £37,280 to £41,771 per annum.
